Important Materials

The McKillans® Water Hose Quick Connect uses 304 medical grade stainless steel for its connectors, which is renowned for its exceptional resistance to rust and corrosion. The O-rings are made from Viton, a high-performance fluoroelastomer that offers superior durability, chemical resistance, and temperature tolerance compared to standard rubber.

Essential Factors to Consider

• Compatibility: Confirm that the quick connects are designed for standard garden hoses and explicitly check if they are NOT compatible with specialized equipment like pressure washers, as is the case with this product.
• Durability: Think about the environment your hose fittings will be exposed to. Stainless steel offers excellent protection against the elements, making it ideal for outdoor use.
• Leak Prevention: The quality of the O-rings is paramount. Upgraded materials like Viton ensure a tighter seal and reduce the likelihood of leaks.
• Number of Connections: Evaluate how many of your hose accessories you want to convert to quick connect. A 3-pack is suitable for converting a hose end, a spray gun, and perhaps a sprinkler.

Budget Planning

When purchasing quick connect fittings, expect a range of prices based on material quality and brand reputation. For durable, stainless steel options with premium O-rings like the McKillans® kit, the investment is justified by their extended lifespan and reliable performance, saving you money on replacements and water waste from leaks in the long run. Typically, a 3-pack of high-quality stainless steel quick connects falls into a mid-range price point, offering excellent value for the features provided.

When to Buy

The best time to purchase hose quick connects is often in the spring as gardening season begins, or during end-of-season sales in the fall. However, leaks can happen anytime, so if your current hose connections are causing frustration or water waste, buying them when you notice the problem is ideal. The McKillans® Water Hose Quick Connect [UNIVERSAL FIT] 3 Pack is a worthwhile purchase year-round if you’re looking to upgrade your watering system.
